Example to young women who aspire to have a bright future.

THEANY is a former garment worker. She attended the English classes at Women of Hope in the evenings. A year later, she applied for high school through our catch-up program. She passed Grade 12 in 2018 and immediately enrolled at the Royal University of Phnom Penh majoring in Social Work.

She finally finished her university studies in July of this year. Theany is one tenacious student who, even through COVID and the challenges of life, has persevered.

After completing her degree, she applied for numerous jobs and received offers from three different NGOs. It was her dream – to be a counsellor, so when one of the three job offers she received was for a counsellor at Garden of Hope she was delighted. It is a Christian non-profit organization, and after many prayers she excitedly broke the news to us that she had accepted the job. We were so delighted for her. We are also very happy that she wants to continue with us by volunteering as an English teacher on the weekends. Her life and perseverance in her studies serve as a great example to other young women who aspire to have a bright future.
